What precautions did the IDF take during the Gaza conflict?

Enormous difficulties were posed by Hamas' tactic of exploiting civilians as human shields. The IDF's efforts to overcome this challenge included a range of precautions related to targeting and munitions, and an extensive system of warnings.

The IDF aborted or postponed attacks on Hamas personnel and targets when it appeared that civilians were at risk, at the expense of attaining military advantage.
