The following services are offered at Israeli missions abroad within the framework of the Nationality Law:
- Clarification of nationality
- Application for certificate attesting nationality/non-nationality
- Application to renounce Israeli nationality
- Application to renounce Israeli nationality of a minor
CLARIFICATION OF NATIONALITY
If you reside abroad and your nationality is unclear, the following is required:
- Registration form for Israeli nationals abroad
- Questionnaire for clarification of nationality
Must be filled out completely.
You must submit the above forms to a mission together with the following documents: birth certificate, certificate attesting that you are an Israeli national, ID card, travel document with an exit stamp from Israel, purpose of emigration, etc.
APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE ATTESTING NATIONALITY In order to receive a certificate attesting Israeli nationality, you must fill out the following forms:
- Registration form for Israeli nationals abroad
- Application form for a certificate attesting nationality
Submit these forms to a mission for continued processing.
APPLICATION TO RENOUNCE ISRAELI NATIONALITY An Israeli national age 18 and over who is not a resident of Israel, may declare in writing his desire to renounce his Israeli nationality. He must submit a declaration for renunciation of Israeli nationality to an Israeli mission abroad , after meeting the following requirements: Fulfillment of his obligations as a national: arranging of status according to Defence Law, registration of: marriage, divorce, children, etc. Submission of proof of another nationality, or an official letter, valid for two years, guaranteeing another nationality.
The following forms are required: 1. Registration form for Israeli nationals abroad 2. Declaration of renunciation of Israeli nationality - Children under age 18 will be included in the application for renunciation of the Israeli parent. - Children age 16-18 included in the application must attach a letter in which they express their consent or non-consent to be included in the request for renunciation. [lozenge] All sections must be filled in; if you have nothing to fill in, draw a line through that space (for example, if you have no children, draw a line through the section on children rather than leaving it blank).
You must apply in person at a mission with the forms and documentation for continued processing.
Note: As long as you have not received confirmation from the Ministry of the Interior of renunciation of nationality, you will continue to be considered an Israeli national.
APPLICATION TO RENOUNCE ISRAELI NATIONALITY OF A MINOR
In the case of a minor born outside of Israel, who has nationality by virtue of foreign birth, where neither he nor his parents are residents of Israel, the parents may renounce the nationality of their son/daughter.
One who wishes to renounce the nationality of his child must submit the following: 1. Proof that the minor has another nationality, or a letter valid for twoyears guaranteeing another nationality. 2. Registration form for Israeli nationals abroad 3. Declaration of renunciation of Israeli nationality
You must apply at a mission with the forms and documentation for continued processing.
