WHAT IS BI ARTS
BI ARTS - British Israeli Arts Training Scheme in collaboration with the British Council - provides exciting opportunities for exchange and development of professional artists based in the UK and in Israel. Working with partners, the programme helps to develop projects that offer training opportunities, foster collaborations, develop long-term links between organisations, or help to develop the arts in either country.
The programme is funded by the British Council and the Government of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Science, Culture & Sport.
WHO IS IT FOR
BI ARTS is open to professional artists in all fields who are living and working in either Israel or the UK. Professionals who are developing projects that involve artists from both countries, and that are taking place either in the UK or in Israel, are eligible to apply for funding or to approach the British Council for further advice about their proposal. We are particularly interested in projects that aim to build long-term collaborations or exchange between Israel and the UK.
BI ARTS can not provide scholarships for courses of individual study.
WHAT CAN BI ARTS OFFER
The British Council can offer professional advice on developing projects that meet BI ARTS aims. This can range from advice on developing a project, to help with promotion and communication. In some cases we can broker connections with potential partners. The British Council will not take on administrative responsibility for a project.
BI ARTS can provide financial support for projects, ranging from small grants to cover travel or accommodation, to larger amounts for long-term programmes.
HOW DO I APPLY
The BI ARTS committee meets four or five times a year to consider applications. The committee will only consider projects that are taking place at least eight weeks after the published deadline.
The next deadline for BI ARTS applications is 21 April 2008.
