FM Netanyahu reacts to the massacre in Hebron

(Communicated by the Foreign Minister's Bureau)
15 November 2002

The cold-blooded attack on civilians whose only "sin" was to go to a holy place of worship on the eve of the Jewish Sabbath and on those people assigned to protect them - such as happened tonight in Hebron - is one of the most despicable acts imaginable.

Israel expects the international community to support its firm reaction against terrorism and the regime that backs it. Israel hopes that the nations of the world will not confine themselves to words of condolence, but will support its government in the duty to use its defensive forces to protect its citizens, as any other nation would do.
