Egyptian Ministers Abul Gheit and Soliman to visit Israel

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Abul Gheit and Chief of Egyptian Intelligence Omar Soliman will arrive in Israel for a working visit.

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Abul Gheit and Chief of Egyptian Intelligence Omar Soliman will arrive in Israel tomorrow (1 December) for a working visit, as guests of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom.

During the course of their visit, the Ministers will meet with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom, and Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz. Their discussions will focus upon advancing of the peace process, and the Egyptian role in this regard. In addition, further means to promote bilateral relations between the two countries will also be discussed.

Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shalom attaches great significance to this visit, due to the centrality of the Egyptian role in the region, the timing of the visit and the importance of the ties between the two states.
