Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom met today (22 December) with British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and stressed to him that we must isolate the extremist forces and strengthen the moderates.

Prime Minister Blair told Foreign Minister Shalom that the European countries today are no longer ambivalent towards terror, and that eradicating terror is a worldwide interest. A halt to terror by the extremist terrorist organizations and the Palestinian Authority will be a positive sign not only for Israeli-Palestinian relations, but for the entire Muslim world.

The two leaders also discussed the Iranian issue, and Minister Shalom stressed the danger of Iran acquiring nuclear arms.
