Visit of FM Shalom to Poland

During his visit to Poland, FM Shalom will discuss the enhancement of ties between Israel and Poland, including the consolidation of economic cooperation.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom will depart tomorrow (October 12) for a two-day visit to Poland. During the visit, Minister Shalom will meet with Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, Prime Minister Marek Belka, Foreign Minister Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz and the Parliamentary Speaker Jozef Oleksy.

Poland is the largest and most significant country of the ten that joined the EU in May 2004. During his visit, Foreign Minister Shalom will discuss the enhancement of ties between Israel and Poland, including the consolidation of economic cooperation. Today, Poland is considered as one of the most attractive destinations in Europe for entrepreneurial investment.

During his visit, Minister Shalom will visit the Warsaw Ghetto, and will lay a wreath at the Memorial in memory of the fallen of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
