Turkish FM Gul visits Israel

Abdullah Gul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, will hold a three-day visit in Israel, the first since his appointment as foreign mninister.

Abdullah Gul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, will hold a three-day visit in Israel as the guest of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom. This is Gul's first visit to Israel since his appointment as foreign mninister.

In the course of his visit, Foreign Minister Gul will meet with President Moshe Katsav, with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, with Vice Premier and Minister of Industry, Trade and Communications Ehud Olmert, with his counterpart Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom, as well as with Chairman of the Israel Labor Party, MK Shimon Peres. He will also visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority.

Gul's visit will focus on further enhancing the strong, friendly and broad bilateral relations which prevail between the two countries in various fields, as well as the peace process in our region and other international regional issues.
