FM Livni to leave on visit to Slovenia

FM Livni will present Israel's position on current regional issues and endeavor to strengthen Israel-EU dialogue.

Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni will leave tonight (Tuesday December 4, 2007) for a brief visit to Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia, in preparation for Slovenia's ascension to the Presidency of the Council of the European Union due to commence on 1 January 2008.

FM Livni will meet with the designated council president Dr. Danilo Turk, Foreign Minister Dimitri Rupel and chairman of the Slovenian parliamentary foreign policy committee Jozef Jerovsek, and will present Israel's position on current regional issues to them. In addition, FM Livni will endeavor to find ways to strengthen the dialogue between Israel and the European Union.

FM Livni will return to Israel on Wednesday night.
