FM Livni leaves on official visit to North America

The Foreign Minister will meet with the UN Secretary-General, US Secretary of State and Canadian Foreign Minister.

Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni left  this morning (11 March) on an official visit to the United States and Canada. Her itinerary includes meetings with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and with Canadian Foreign Minister Peter MacKay.

FM Livni will address the AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) Conference in Washington D.C. on Monday morning.

During her visit to Canada, the Foreign Minister will address the annual meeting of the Canada-Israel Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, 13th March. In addition to her meeting with her Canadian counterpart, FM Livni will also meet with Canada's Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.

During her visit to the United States, the Foreign Minister will have an early morning meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, together with Minister of Defense Amir Peretz. Later she will have a working meeting with Secretary Rice. She will also meet with U.S. senators and congressmen.
