FM Livni condemns terror attack in Istanbul

10 Jul 2008

FM Livni strongly condemned the latest terrorist attack, which, she stated, "underscores the need for coordination of international efforts against the organizations that carry out these murderous operations, and their supporters."

(Communicated by the Foreign Minister's Bureau)

Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni has issued a strong condemnation of the terror attack on the Consulate General of the United States of America in Istanbul yesterday (9 July 2008).

"Israel condemns in no uncertain terms the deplorable terrorist attack on the Consulate General of the United States in Istanbul, which killed three Turkish police officers," the Minister stated.

"There can be absolutely no justification for this reprehensible act of terror, which underscores the need for coordination of international efforts against the organizations that carry out these murderous operations, and their supporters."

The Minister extended her sincerest condolences and solidarity to the families of the fallen police officers, the Government of Turkey, and the US Administration, and her best wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.
