The UK welcomed an Israeli team to London yesterday (Monday, 14 April 2008, for the first 'Strategic Dialogue' between senior officials, as agreed by Britain's Foreign Secretary David Miliband and Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni.
The UK inter-departmental team was led by FCO Permanent Under-Secretary Peter Ricketts, and the Israeli team by Foreign Ministry Director-General Aaron Abramovitch. The Dialogue covered regional and international issues of concern to both countries. Future sessions will be held annually.
