FM Liberman meets with NATO Secretary General

FM Liberman and Sec-Gen Scheffer reviewed the latest developments in the international arena and their consequences on the situation in the Middle East.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Liberman met today (Monday, 15 June 2009) with NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer. The two agreed to continue to maintain close ties of cooperation in the future.

In their meeting, FM Liberman and Secretary General Scheffer reviewed the latest developments in the international arena and their consequences on the situation in the Middle East. FM Liberman stated that the failure in preventing the nuclear arming of North Korea must serve as a warning signal to the international community regarding their position towards Iran, and that rigorous steps must be taken to neutralize the danger posed to the world in general , and the Middle East in particular, by a nuclear Iran.
