FM Liberman on Turkish television broadcast

14 Oct 2009

The television series broadcast on Turkish TV constitutes the most serious level of incitement, and it is being done with state sponsorship.

(Communicated by the Foreign Minister's Bureau)

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Liberman has issued instructions to summon the Turkish Ambassador to Israel to a meeting with Foreign Ministry officials to protest the broadcasting of a television series which incites against Israel on Turkish state television.

FM Liberman said that the television series constitutes the most serious level of incitement, and it is being done with state sponsorship. Such a series, which bears no connection whatsoever to reality, presenting IDF soldiers as murderers of innocent children, should not be broadcast even in hostile states - and certainly not in a state that maintains full diplomatic relations with Israel.
