The second session of the Israel-France strategic dialogue was held today (28 October 2009) in Paris. The dialogue is headed by Pierre Sellal, Director-General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Yossi Gal, Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The talks were devoted to the bilateral relations of the two countries, the European Union - Israel relationship and international issues which are on the agenda of both countries. Central to the discussion were the Israel-Palestinian peace process, the situation in the Middle East and Iran.
The strategic dialogue is held on an annual basis, and enables France and Israel to examine issues of mutual interest. The dialogue is testimony to the close relationship and trust that characterize the relationship between Israel and France.
The next session will be held in 2010, in Israel.
