ENERGY SECTOR:

* EGYPT TO BEGIN EXPORTING OF NATURAL GAS IN 1998. ISRAEL EXPECTS TO BE ONE OF THE FIRST CUSTOMERS.

Egypt is planning to begin export production of its natural gas reserves in 1998, according to Muhammad a-Tavilah, deputy president of the Egyptian National Oil Company's natural gas division. Energy Minister Moshe Shahal has reported his ministry is negotiating with the Egyptians for securing supply of the natural gas. Egypt's natural gas reserves are estimated at around 21 trillion cubic feet of natural gas (600 billion cubic meters), according to a-Tavilah. BUSINESS SECTOR:

* ISRAEL ELECTRIC CORPORATION ONCE AGAIN TOPS DUN AND BRADSTREET LIST OF LARGEST INDUSTRIES.

Yesterday (Monday) 11.4.94, Dun and Bradstreet released its annual list of the 100 largest industrial concerns in Israel. The top 10 were: Israel Electric Corporation, Israel Aircraft Industries, Oil Refineries, Tadiran, Tnuva Food Industries, Scitex Corporation, Elbit Computers, Dead Sea Works, Motorola Israel, and Teva Pharmaceuticals. Adacom Technologies recorded the largest upward movement on the list jumping 58 spaces to 81 from 139 the year before. Dun and Bradstreet's list of the largest trading and services firms showed the following top ten: Bezeq Israel Telecom, Tnuva Food Industries, Zim Israel Navigation Companys, Paz Oil, El Al Airlines, Blue Square Co-op, Super Sol, Delek Israel Fuel Corporation, Mekorot Water Company, and Shekem.
