An Israeli delegation headed by Environment Minister Yossi Sarid will, today (Sunday), 23.10.94, leave for Bahrain to participate in discussions on environmental matters, in the framework of the multilateral negotiations.

The discussions will be held in working groups from 24-26.10.94. This seventh round of discussions will be attended by participants from 42 countries, including most of the Arab, and all of the Gulf, countries. The following issues will be discussed: the joint Israeli-Jordanian-Egyptian project concerning the campaign against water pollution in the Gulf of Eilat, desertification, sewage, and environmental awareness. An environment treaty for Mediterranean countries will apparently be proclaimed at the end of the meetings.
