PM Netanyahu Speaks with King Hussein

Jerusalem, 30 July 1998
King Hussein of Jordan telephoned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last
night (Wednesday), 29.7.98, from the Mayo Clinic in the United States, to
thank him for his get-well wishes and flowers. PM Netanyahu said that all
Israelis join him in praying for the King's full recovery.
Netanyahu added that, in order to assist Jordan, he has ordered a
one-month advance of the $50 million which Israel has promised Jordan; the
funds will be transferred today. The King thanked the Prime Minister for
this effort as well.
King Hussein asked PM Netanyahu about the political process, and the Prime
Minister replied that Israel is working to advance the peace process, also
thanking the King for the assistance that Jordan has extended in this
regard.
