PA COMMITMENT TO ARREST PALESTINIAN FUGITIVES

(Communicated by the Prime Minister's Media Adviser)

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has received the American guarantees pertaining to the arrest of the 30 terrorist fugitives wanted by Israel. At each phase of the agreement's implementation, one-third of the wanted fugitives will be arrested -- with completion of the process coming at the end of the 12-week Wye timetable.

As a result, the Cabinet will convene today (Thursday), 5.11.98, at 10:00, to approve the Wye River Memorandum.

According to the Prime Minister, the intent of the Palestinians will now be tested through their actions on the ground, as agreed and in keeping with the principle of reciprocity.
