3 June Prime Minister Rabin presents his government to the Knesset and wins a vote of confidence.
5 June UN Secretary General Waldheim holds talks in Jerusalem.
16-17 June President Richard M. Nixon visits Israel, holds discussions with its leaders.
18 June IDF completes its withdrawal from the "Syrian bulge" in the framework of the Israel-Syria Disengagement of Forces agreement.
25 June Terrorist attack on Nahariyah, 2 civilians killed.
1 July Rabin proclaims there is no room for another state between Israel and Jordan.
18 July U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Simon visits Israel.
21 July Government announces its policy on talks with Jordan.
27 July Settlers attempting to settle at Sebastia removed by the IDF.
28 July Foreign Minister Allon holds talks in Washington.
10 August President Ford assures Israel the U.S. will honour its commitments.
10-13 September Prime Minister Rabin pays an official visit to Washington, holds talks with President Ford and senior administration officials.
12 October Secretary of State Kissinger arrives in Israel for a round of talks.
14 October The General Assembly votes 105 against 4 to invite the PLO to participate in the debate on the "Palestine question."
26-30 October Arab summit conference in Rabat determines that the PLO is the sole representatives of the Palestinian Arabs and removes Jordan from a future role in the West Bank.
1 November Reacting to the Rabat decisions, Israel announces there will be no talks with the PLO.
7 November A UNESCO Committee approves an Arab resolution to suspend aid to Israel.
13 November Arafat before the General Assembly calls for the liquidation of Israel and the establishment of a "secular-democratic Palestine", where Jews, too, could live.
19 November Terrorist attack on Beit Shean, 4 civilians killed, 20 injured.
20 November UNESCO condemns Israel on its archaeological digs in Jerusalem.
22 November General Assembly votes in favour of granting observer status to PLO and recognized self-determination rights to Palestinians.
10 December 71 Senators condemn recent UN resolutions against Israel.
19 December Sadat demands Israeli withdrawal from the Giddi and Mitla passes, the Abu Rudeis oil fields and withdrawal to the Ras-Mohammed-El Arish line as a condition for an additional interim agreement.

1975
16 January Foreign Minister Allon holds talks in Washington with President Ford, Secretary Kissinger.
13 February Secretary Kissinger holds talks in Jerusalem on the Interim Agreement.
6 March Terrorist attack on a Tel Aviv hotel. 3 soldiers and 8 civilians killed.
8 March Secretary Kissinger starts his shuttles between Jerusalem and Cairo to obtain the Interim Agreement.
20 March The Interim Agreement talks are deadlocked.
22 March The talks with Secretary Kissinger are suspended. March President Ford announces a review of U.S. arms deliveries to Israel.
29 March Sadat announces the opening of the Suez Canal on 5 June.
10 April President Ford pledges another effort for peace in the Middle East.
21 April Foreign Minister Allon holds talks with Secretary Kissinger in Washington.
11 May Israel and the European Economic Community sign an agreement giving Israel Associate Membership.
1 June Foreign Minister Allon visits Rumania.
2 June Rabin announces Israeli troop reduction in Sinai.
5 June The Suez Canal is re-opened for navigation.
10-11 June Rabin holds talks in Washington with President Ford.
4 July Terrorist bomb in Zion Square, Jerusalem, kills 13 civilians.
8-12 July Prime Minister Rabin visits the Federal Republic of Germany.
12 July Prime Minister Rabin meets Secretary of State Kissinger in Bonn.
7-10 August State visit to Israel of Mexican President Echeverriah.
21 August Secretary Kissinger arrives for another round of talks on the Interim Agreement.
1 September Israel-Egypt Interim Agreement is signed in Jerusalem and Alexandria. An Israel-U.S. Protocol is also signed.
3 September The Knesset approves the Interim Agreement.
4 September Interim Agreement is signed in Geneva by Egypt, initiated by Israel.
17-20 September Defence Minister Peres visits Washington for talks on arms deliveries.
22 September Military protocol for implementation of the Interim Agreement signed in Geneva by Egypt, initiated by Israel.
10 October Israel signs the military protocol after U.S. Congress approves U.S. presence in Sinai. Abu Rudeis oil fields handed to Egypt. 22 October Joint Israel-Egypt military commission meets for the first time in Sinai.
10 November The UN General Assembly, in a series of anti-Israel resolutions, equates Zionism with racism.
11 November The Knesset rejects the UN resolution on Zionism.
13 November 6 civilians killed by a terrorist bomb in Jerusalem.
15 November Israel rejects the "Saunders Document" on the Palestinians.
30 November Security Council extends UNDOF mandate by six months but yields to Syria's demand to hold a Middle East debate with PLO participation.
1 December Israel decides not to take part in the Security Council debate.
3 December The Jerusalem Jewish Solidarity Conference opens.
4 December Visit of Mexican Foreign Minister Rabassa.
17 December Defence Minister Peres visits Washington.

1976
1 January Israel announces again it will boycott Security Council Middle East debate if the PLO participates.
5-9 January Foreign Minister Alton holds talks in Washington.
12 January The Security Council opens Middle East debate. PLO invites, Israel boycotts the sessions.
26 January The U.S. vetoes a draft resolution in the Security Council. The discussion ends with no resolution being adopted.
26-29 January Prime Minister Rabin pays an official visit to the U.S., addresses a joint ses sion of Congress.
22 February IDF completes withdrawal under the Interim Agreement.
22 February Following Rabin's talks in Washington, Israel announces readiness to have the U.S. explore Arab states attitude to an end of the state of war negotiations with Israel.
22 March The U.S. vetoes an anti-Israel draft resolution at the conclusion of a Security Council discussion on the situation in the West Bank.
1 April President Oduber of Costa Rica visits Israel.
8 April Prime Minister Vorster of South Africa visits Israel.
12 April Elections are held in 24 municipal and local councils in the West Bank.
4 May The Security Council starts a discussion on the situation in the administered areas.
26 May The Security Council concludes its discussion with a consensus expressed by its President.
3 June First meeting of the Israel-EEC commission.
24 June Foreign Minister Allon visits the Federal Republic of Germany.
27 June Air France airliner enroute from Tel Aviv to Paris is hijacked after a stop over in Athens. It is flown to Entebbe.
4 July In a daring raid, the IDF free 100 Israeli passengers hijacked to Entebbe.
14 July Draft resolution condemning Israel for the Entebbe rescue fails to pass.
5 August Israel and the U.S. initial an agreement for the supply to Israel of two nuclear reactors.
11 August Terrorists attack El-Al passengers in Istanbul airport.
29 August Prime Minister Troudeau of Canada visits Israel.
16 September Israel and the U.S. discuss their differences over drilling for oil in the Gulf of Suez.
27 November Prime Minister Rabin addresses the Socialist International in Geneva.
6 December Israel proposes to the General Assembly a resolution calling for the recon vening of the Geneva Peace Conference with its original participants. The proposal is later withdrawn.
10 December The General Assembly adopts a resolution for a nuclear free zone in the Middle East.
15 December Resignation of the Rabin government.

1977
4 February Prime Minister Rabin meets President Houphouet-Boigny of the Ivory Coast in Geneva.
17 February Secretary of State Vance holds talk's in Jerusalem.
7-9 March Prime Minister Rabin visits Washington for talks with President Carter.
9 March President Carter announces new U.S. policy for the Middle East.
7 April Prime Minister Rabin returns his mandate as the Labour Party candidate for the offices of Prime Minister.
11 May Foreign Minister Allon meets with Secretary Vance in London.
17 May Likud party wins the elections for Israel's ninth Knesset.
20 June Prime Minister Begin presents his government to the Knesset and wins a vote of confidence.
