238. Statement by the Prime Ministers Bureau on Mr. Begin's visit to the U.S., 28 February 1979.
Simultaneously, the Prime Minister's Bureau in Jerusalem made an announcement to the effect that Mr. Begin will hold "personal talks only" with the President. Text:
At the invitation of President Carter - who this evening spoke by telephone with Prime Minister Begin - the Prime Minister will on Thursday morning leave for the United States to hold talks with President Carter. In reply to a question the Prime Minister's Chef de Bureau stated that in their telephone conversation this evening Mr. Carter and Mr. Begin spoke of personal talks only between the U.S. President and the Israeli Prime Minister.
