The visit of General Kamal Hassan Ali enabled him, his delegation and Defense Minister Weizman and the Israeli team to review the plans for the continuation of the Israeli withdrawal from Sinai according to the peace treaty. The Minister of Defence of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Gen. Kamal Hassan Ali, and his delegation concluded a three-day visit in Israel and has conducted talks with the Minister of Defence of Israel, Mr. Ezer Weizman, and his delegation.
In these meetings between the two delegations, the main issues concerning the implementation of the military annex of the Treaty of Peace were discussed in a frank, constructive and amicable spirit. Both sides stressed their willingness to respect the Treaty of Peace and to implement all the provisions of the military annex.
The Minister of Defence of Egypt has stated that Egypt is preparing a civilian team to man the El Arish airport for civilian use, according to the Treaty.
The Ministers agreed to meet in Egypt by the end of September-beginning of October to review the work of the Joint Commission and to discuss future necessary steps of implementation of the treaty.
The two delegations expressed their satisfaction of the work of the Joint Commission.
The Defence Minister of Egypt thanked the Defence Minister of Israel for the warm reception and kind hospitality he was accorded throughout his visit.
