 VOLUME 7: 1981-1982

103. Knesset Resolution Condemning the General Assembly Resolution, 10 February 1982.

The coalition proposed a Knesset resolution condemning the recent United Nations General Assembly resolution ES-91 1. This followed a two-day debate in the Knesset. The opposition Alignment abstained from the vote when their own draft resolution was defeated. The following resolution was approved by 61 in favor, 3 against and 42 abstentions. Text:

1. The Knesset rejects and condemns the malicious resolution of the majority of the U.N. General Assembly of 5 February 1982.

2. The Knesset states that the resolution is bereft of any moral basis and has no validity whatsoever.

3. The Knesset expresses its appreciation to the twenty free and democratic nations which, together with Israel, opposed the aforementioned resolution.
