Elections for Prime Minister: Arrangements for voting abroad, at prisons, detention facilities and hospitals

A. Voting at Israeli missions abroad
99 polling stations will be stationed at Israeli diplomatic missions
around the world. 3,171 people are registered to vote at these
stations.
The first polling station to open will be in Wellington, New Zealand.
It will open at 23:00 Israel time on Wednesday, 24.1.2001, and close at
10:00 Israel time on Thursday, 25.1.2001.
The polling stations on the west coast of the US (Los Angeles and San
Francisco) will open at 19:00 Israel time on Thursday, 25.1.2001, and
close at 06:00 Israel time on Friday, 26.1.2001.
The smallest polling station - with three registered voters - will be in
Alexandria, Egypt.
The largest polling station - with 335 registered voters - will be in
New York City.
The following people are eligible to vote at the 99 aforementioned
polling stations: State employees and employees of The Jewish Agency for
Israel, the World Zionist Organization, the Jewish National Fund, and
Keren Hayesod who are stationed abroad for work purposes. Family
members of the foregoing (including children under 20) are also eligible
to vote at these polling stations.
B. Voting in prisons and detention facilities
42 polling stations will be set up at 28 installations: 31polling
stations will be set up in prisons and 11 at detention facilities.
Eight of these 42 polling stations will be mobile.
C. Voting in hospitals
184 polling stations will be set up in 177 hospitals and medical
facilities (having more than 50 beds). 49 of these polling stations
will be mobile. Approximately 42,000 patients and staff are expected to
cast their ballots at these 184 stations.
Voting at polling stations abroad, in prisons and detention facilities,
and in hospitals will be done via the double-envelope system.
