Cabinet Communique
(Communicated by the Cabinet Secretariat)

At a special Cabinet meeting yesterday (Tuesday), September 11, 2001:

The Cabinet has decided, out of deep shock and sharing the deep grief of the American people, in the wake of the series of criminal terrorist attacks in the United States and their tragic outcomes, to declare a day of mourning in Israel today (Wednesday), September 12, 2001.

The flag of Israel will fly at half-mast at government offices, local councils, IDF bases, educational institutions and Israeli diplomatic representations overseas.

The Interior Minister, Defense Minister, Foreign Minister and Education Minister will direct the bodies under their responsibility on the implementation of the decisions.

Notices of mourning will be published in the Israeli and American newspapers.
