Cabinet Communique

At a special Cabinet meeting yesterday (Tuesday), September 11,
2001:
The Cabinet has decided, out of deep shock and sharing the deep grief
of the American people, in the wake of the series of criminal
terrorist attacks in the United States and their tragic outcomes, to
declare a day of mourning in Israel today (Wednesday), September
12, 2001.
The flag of Israel will fly at half-mast at government offices, local
councils, IDF bases, educational institutions and Israeli diplomatic
representations overseas.
The Interior Minister, Defense Minister, Foreign Minister and
Education Minister will direct the bodies under their responsibility
on the implementation of the decisions.
Notices of mourning will be published in the Israeli and American
newspapers.
