Cabinet Communique

At the weekly Cabinet meeting today (Sunday), December 9, 2001:

1. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon opened the meeting by noting that the Cabinet meeting was taking place at the Judea and Samaria Corps headquarters in order to present to the Government the work of the IDF, ISA and Israel Police as it is carried out in the field. Prime Minister Sharon said that the work being done in the district is excellent and its results impressive. The Prime Minister clarified that the activities will have to be increased in light of the situation in the territories. The Cabinet was briefed by security sources on the different issues relating to the war on terrorism.

2. The Cabinet appointed an interministerial team to coordinate the activities of the government offices in the seam line communities with the objective of assisting the communities as a result of the security situation in the region.
