Clarification on Patriot Reports

Various reports have appeared in recent days to the effect that Israel appealed to the US, which then turned to Germany, in order to transfer Patriot batteries to Israel.
These reports are baseless.
There was a report this morning (Tuesday, 26 November) that Israel has asked to receive Patriot batteries from Germany. This report is correct; however, the request was made some time ago against the background of information according to which Germany intends to withdraw the Patriot batteries from its order-of-battle. The request is now being considered.
