IDF redploys around Kalkilya and Tulkarm
(Communicated by the Defense Minister's Media Adviser)

Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, in coordination with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon late yesterday evening (Monday), April 8, 2002, ordered the IDF to redeploy around the cities of Kalkilya and Tulkarm and to tighten the closures around them.

The redeployment was decided upon following the completion of IDF action in these cities.

Defense Minister Ben-Eliezer praised the IDF for its successful actions in the two cities which struck a severe blow at the infrastructures of terror, including the arrests of wanted fugitives and clashing with armed terrorist elements, and capturing large quantities of weapons, war materiel, bombs and explosives.

Defense Minister Ben-Eliezer emphasizes that the IDF and the security establishment will continue to act against terror with whatever means necessary in order to foil attacks and strengthen the security of the residents of Israel.
