Travel advisory for Sinai

2 Oct 2005

The National Security Council Counter-Terrorism HQ issued the following statement:

“Information has been received about the intention of terrorist elements to kidnap Israeli tourists on the Sinai beaches during the October holidays, effective now. Therefore, the National Security Council Counter-Terrorism HQ emphasizes the severe travel warning in effect for Egypt in general and all of Sinai in particular and recommends that Israelis refrain from visiting Egypt, including Sinai.  Israelis already there should leave immediately.”
