PM Olmert and DM Peretz express regret at death of Palestinian civilians

Following their meeting this morning (Wednesday), 8 November 2006, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Amir Peretz expressed their regret over the deaths of Palestinian civilians in Beit Hanoun. The two men offered the Palestinian Authority urgent humanitarian assistance and immediate medical care for the wounded. 

Defense Minister Peretz informed Prime Minister Olmert that he has ordered an urgent investigation into the matter and a halt to artillery fire at the Gaza Strip until completion of the inquiry into the circumstances, the background and the considerations that led to the tragic results.
