Winograd implementation committee presents its report

The committee that examined the implementation of the recommendations of the Winograd Committee interim report, chaired by former IDF Chief-of-Staff Amnon Lipkin-Shahak, presented its recommendations this morning (Wednesday), 4 July 2007, to the ministerial committee chaired by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

Committee Chairman Lipkin-Shahak briefed Prime Minister Olmert and the other ministers on his committee's main recommendations on implementing the Winograd Committee interim report recommendations,

Prime Minister Olmert thanked the Committee members for their work. He appointed his Chief of the Staff, Dr. Yoram Turbowicz, to coordinate implementation of the committee's recommendations. The Prime Minister directed that the Government submit to the Knesset, within days, draft legislation that will anchor the responsibilities and status of the National Security Council as has been specified by the Shahak Committee.
