Humanitarian supply chain to Gaza expands

The Kerem Shalom and Karni crossings operated on Sunday in order to convey humanitarian goods in to Gaza. Throughout the day 143 trucks loaded with 3,411 tons of supplies for UNRWA, the World Health Organization the World Food Programme the International Committee of the Red Cross, donations from Egypt and Jordan as well as goods for the private sector was shipped to Gaza. Also, for the first time, direct access from Egypt to Gaza was approved and 5 trucks with an Egyptian donation entered directly in to Gaza though Kerem Shalom.

In addition, 60,000 liters of heavy duty diesel were transferred to the Gaza Strip via the temporary mechanism at Kerem Shalom established for heavy duty diesel for the Gaza power plant.

Since the beginning of the operation, 36,991 tons of humanitarian supplies have been transferred to Gaza in 1498 trucks and 1,726,351 liters of fuel have been conveyed through Nahal Oz and Kerem Shalom.
