Avishay Braverman

Avishay Braverman was born in Israel in 1948. He completed his army service with the rank of Lieutenant. An economist by profession, he holds a Ph.D. in Economics frin Stanford University (1976).

First elected to the Knesset in 2006, Braverman served on Economic Affairs Committee and the Finance Committee, which he also chaired. He also served as chairman of the Pensioners' Lobby.

In March 2009, Avishay Braverman was appointed Minister of Minority Affairs.

He is married and the father of two.
