Eli Aflalo was born in Casablanca, Morocco in 1952 and immigrated to Israel in 1962. He completed his army service with the rank of staff sergeant.
First elected to the 16th Knesset in 2003, he has served as a member of the Knesset Finance, Economic Affairs, Labor, Welfare, & Health, and Internal Affairs & Environment Committees, and as Chairman of the Lobby for Industry in Israel.
Eli Aflalo served as Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade from March 2005 until May 2006, and as Minister of Immigrant Absorption from July 2008 until March 2009.
He has three children.
