The chip operates with a video camera mounted on the dashboard. It can distinguish between non-threatening observations (i.e. objects at the side of the road) and imminent hazards (i.e. pedestrians suddenly crossing in front of the car). In dangerous situations, the system can take automatic corrective steps and sound warnings to help prevent an accident.
