The Israel Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports  recently launched the website of the Israeli Pedagogical Network for Collaborative Learning - IPNCL. This project is a joint vision of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via the Department for Cultural and Scientific Cooperation. The network was established in order to create a learning environment for secondary schools around the world to promote collaborative learning via the internet. The project emphasizes multi-cultural learning, tolerance, open-mindedness and improving English language communication skills and familiarity with the internet.

The aim is to develop this style of learning and to establish it as an integral part of the curriculum in Israeli secondary schools. In order to accomplish this we need your help in finding schools abroad to join the project.

This program has been functioning for three years and is now in the process of expansion and development. During the first year, seven Israeli schools worked in collaboration with schools from five countries abroad. This year 20 Israeli classes are working with classes from twelve different countries (Italy, Norway, Canada, Mexico, China, Russia, USA, Kenya, South Korea, Germany, Japan and Poland). Israeli representatives throughout the world aid in forming ties with schools in their countries of operation.

The personal discourse which is a vital part of the project creates significant understanding of Israeli culture as well as understanding of the other cultures by the student participants and their teachers.

The websites which are created by the participating students reflect this understanding as well as the rich products of the collaborative learning experience.

The IPNCL website contains detailed information about the project, descriptions and images of the various project activities, resources for use in the project and links to the websites created by the participating schools.
