   KINDERGARTEN

Old City of Acre, 1995

Architect: Adeeb Daoud

This kindergarten is located in a gradually restored structure which demonstrates the architect's sensitivity and ability to intervene with modern means,
without destroying the character of the original building. The series of rational detailing blurs the line between the old and the new and produces a natural continuity of the architecture. The challenge to fabricate a unique dialogue between the preserved structure and the free spirited interior is materialized in the use of roofs, courtyards and passage ways. Appropriate exploitation of the variance in levels has resulted in a multilevel sculptured courtyard.
