   PRIVATE HOUSE

Savyon, 1997

Architect: Sefi Rodav

The formal complexity of this house, articulated by its eclectic delineation, does not hinder its architect's ability to relate it to its surroundings, climate and purpose. Shading devices and play of light and shade, sometimes emerging as a symbolic layer, are the primary motivation of the design. Yet, as the late architect's family home, the structure also reflects her inner world and personal history. The L-shaped layout
is formed by the meeting of two parts: one - the parents' house, depicted with visual heaviness, and the other - the children's house, broadcasts a light and energetic rhythm.
