| The Damascus Gate - one of the eight gates in the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, and the main entrance to the Muslim quarter. The gate has an amphitheater-shaped plaza built facing it. It is so named because one left the walled city of Jerusalem through this gate towards Damascus.
