   DAMASCUS GATE
 
 
The Damascus Gate - one of the eight gates in the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, and the main entrance to the Muslim quarter. The gate has an amphitheater-shaped plaza built facing it. It is so named because one left the walled city of Jerusalem through this gate towards Damascus.

 
 
   OLD CITY MARKET 
 
The Old City Market, presenting stalls of local clothing and copper cookware, Middle Eastern-style cakes and cooked foods, spices, fruits and vegetables.

 

 
   MODEL OF JERUSALEM
 
 
A model of Jerusalem displaying the city as it was in the first century CE, including the Second Temple. This model is located at Jerusalems Holyland Hotel.

 

 
 
   OPHEL ARCHEOLOGICAL  GARDEN 
 
The Ophel Archeological Garden, revealing 2,500 years of Jerusalem's history in 25 layers of ruins, remnants of the structures of the citys successive rulers. This site is located below the southeastern corner of the Temple Mount.

 

 
   THE CARDO
 
 
The Cardo - the Roman and Byzantine commercial thoroughfare. Excavated and restored, the Cardos vaulted recesses now serve once more as shops and galleries.

 

 
 
   TOWER OF DAVID 
 
The Tower of David Museum of the History of Jerusalem, on the ancient site known as the Citadel, describes Jerusalem's 3,000year history, in chronological progression, with photographs and copies of original artifacts, audiovisual exhibits and illustrations. The
museum grounds includes a Hasmonean wall of the second century BCE, the remains of three towers built by King Herod, and structures from the Roman, Byzantine, Crusader, Mamluk and Turkish periods.
