   TRACKING BY  RADAR 
 
Ben Gurion Airport radar is used during the migrating periods; it has been found most effective in locating even single birds.

   TRACKING BY  DRONE
 

 
For the first time ever, biological research was carried out with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) produced by the Israel Aircraft Industries. The pursuit was controlled from a monitoring vehicle on land.

The motorized glider tracked soaring birds; as it approached, the engine was shut off, and it glided with them wing to wing.

This White Stork, caught in the Beit She'an Valley in northern Israel, had a small transmitted attached to it, with signals going to a satellite. The satellite tracked its migration across geographic borders.
