Israeli business enters the UN Global Compact

The Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with Maala-Business for Social Responsibility, will on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 mark the launching of Israel's active involvement within the United Nations Global Compact.
  
Israel joins the United Nations Global Compact
  

 

The Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with Maala-Business for Social Responsibility, will on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 mark the inauguration of Israel's active involvement within the United Nations Global Compact - the U.N. Framework for Social and Environmental commitment in the business sector, which accords prestigious international recognition to businesses that meet criteria of social and environmental commitment throughout the world.

At the inauguration event, which will take place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, senior representatives of the business sector will be addressed by Vice Prime Minister and Ministr of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni; Mr. Georg Kell, Chairman of the U.N. Global Compact; Mrs. Ofra Strauss, Chairwomen of "Strauss-Elite" Group; and other dignitaries. The event is meant to encourage more Israeli companies to join the Global Compact framework.
