On Wednesday morning, 23 February, the Israeli Forum for Combating Antisemitism is meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem. The day-long seminar will be opened by the Ministry’s acting Director General, Mr. Rafi Barak.
The Forum provides a platform for people and organizations in Israel who are involved in combating antisemitism to coordinate and evaluate their activities and to exchange ideas. Participants in the seminar include staff from relevant government ministries, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Strategic Affairs and the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs; research and academic institutes such as the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism (SICSA), the Kantor Center for the Study of Contemporary European Jewry, the Institute for Jewish Policy Research, the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, the Simon Wiesenthal Center-Israel, the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (ITIC), NGO Monitor, and various Jewish organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the World Jewish Congress (WJC) and the American Jewish Congress (AJC), as well as Yad Vashem, Massua Institute for Holocaust Studies, and Beit Theresienstadt (Terezin House).
The current Forum meeting will be concerned with various regional aspects of antisemitism, with an emphasis on the “new antisemitism” and the campaigns to delegitimize Israel.
