October 29, 1998


On Thursday morning (October 29, 1998) a terrorist drove an explosives-laden car into an Israeli army jeep escorting a bus with 40 elementary school students from the settlement of Kfar Darom in the Gaza Strip, killing himself and an Israeli soldier. Hamas claimed responsibility for the suicide attack that also injured three Israelis. The children, aged six to 14, were unharmed.
