PM Barak Meets PA Chairman Arafat

Prime Minister Ehud Barak last night (Sunday) 14.11.99 met Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat in Tel Aviv as part of their ongoing dialogue, in order to discuss ways to advance the negotiations. Aides of both leaders attended the meetings, which was coordinated between the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister David Levy.
The Prime Minister raised the issue of the recent comments made by Palestinian personalities which do not contribute to the atmosphere necessary for the success of the negotiations.
Regarding today's planned withdrawal, the IDF is deployed to withdraw as planned, but only if further contacts clarify whether the withdrawal will be today or at a later date.
