The Israeli and Palestinian sides have agreed tonight to issue a joint call for the cessation of violence.
I hereby call all forces and parties to refrain from violence, incitement and the use of force in order to restore peace and calm.
We undertook to work together to implement the Sharm El-Sheik understandings as presented by President Clinton at the closing of the Sharm El-Sheik Summit last month. These understandings shall be implemented in the manner concluded between Chairman Arafat and Prime Minister Barak on the night of November, 1, 2000.
The sides share the hope for a future of stability, prosperity and peace, when two separate political entities will coexist side by, side in good neighborly relations. The sides undertake to exert every effort to realize this dream of Peace of the Brave in dignity, fairness and mutual respect.
