The Government Press of Israel will operate a primary press center in
Jerusalem in the Teddy Hall at the International Convention Center
throughout the visit. This center will function from the evening of
Sunday, March 19, 2000 through Sunday evening, March 26.

A secondary press center at the Nazareth Marriott Hotel (2 Hermon St.,
Upper Nazareth), will function from Thursday afternoon, March 23,
through Saturday, 25 March.
It is important to note that in the press center in the Nazareth
Marriott there will be 30 telephone positions for dialing within Israel
only including toll-free numbers.

The Government Press Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the
Ministry of Tourism, the Municipality of Jerusalem and the Vatican will
have their representatives at the Jerusalem press center to assist you
in your work.
The following facilities will be available at the Jerusalem center.
Accreditation:
Journalists who have pre-registered via the internet or by mail will be
able to pick up their press cards at the Jerusalem press center.
Journalists who applied through the internet will have to show the
necessary documents at the Accreditation desk. Distribution and issuing
of press cards will commence at the Jerusalem press center from Sunday,
March 19 at 16:00.
(Journalists with valid permanent GPO cards do not need new
credentials. All 1999 GPO cards are valid till April 1, 2000).
COMMUNICATIONS HALL
Filing Facilities
Journalists wishing to use the filing facilities will have to register
with the Payment Booth in order to obtain a code to use the phones or
faxes. Payment will be by credit cards only.
- 180 positions with telephone sets including connecting cables
terminating with RJ11 plugs for modem connection in laptop computers
with direct access to international connections (via payment);
- 20 computers with direct access to the internet through a provider
with printers (No charge);
- 100 connections terminating with RJ11 for access to the internet
through a provider for those who have their own computers (no charge);
- faxes (via payment);
- copying machines.
Live TV Signal
There will be 5 large video screens in this area with the live TV signal
of the pool coverage and 4 other main channels. Journalists will be
able to obtain headphones (upon deposit until return) in order to hear
any of the channels. The headphones will be available at the entrance
of the press center . The video signal is not for broadcast use.
Audio Feed
An audio feed will be available in the Communication Hall with the
filing facilities. It is recommended you come equipped with hybrid
mixers and long audio cables to get the audio signal. The audio signal
is regular standard and not broadcast standard.

Please note that you have to order your own point to point ISDN lines

PRESS BRIEFING HALL
(adjacent to the filing facilities)
The Foreign Ministry of Israel will conduct a series of briefings during
the course of the visit.
Schedule of press briefings
The first briefing will take place on Sunday evening, March 19, 2000 on
coverage details of the visit.
There will be a large video screen in this hall which will show the TV
signal when there are no briefings.
In addition, there will be a few "meeting areas" where quiet interviews
can be conducted when there are no briefings.
Cafeteria
Light refreshments and meals will be available. During the Sabbath
(Friday evening to Saturday evening), the cafeteria will be closed.
