Bayit Meshutaf
Young Jewish Leadership
Diplomatic Seminar
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Jerusalem, Israel
The Young Jewish Leadership Diplomatic Seminar is an exciting new venture
of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Seminar, this year designed as a pilot, is scheduled to take place in
Jerusalem, beginning on 27 June and ending on 23 July 1999.
The Seminar's objectives are multifold. First and foremost, it is intended
to enhance the relations between Young Jewish Leadership world-wide and
the State of Israel. It also aims to increase the knowledge of young Jews
in four topics which will form the basic pillars of its programme: Israel
in the International Arena; The Middle East; Israeli Culture and Jewish
Life. Naturally, all subjects will be dealt with in the limitations of the
tight time-frame of the Seminar.
The Seminar is being conducted under a new, now being established,
division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to be entitled "Bayit
Meshutaf" (Shared Home), underlying the unity of Jews in Israel and all
over the world, and the centrality of their homeland.
The Seminar is being fully sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
including: full board and lodging, excursions, and other incidentals.
Flight fares will not be financed by the programme. However, in special
cases, grants may be given. Participants in the programme will lodge (two
to a room) at the Ma'ale Hachamisha Kibbutz Hotel, northwest of
Jerusalem.
