51. Strategic Management in Energy Corporations in a Developing Economy

The Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) - Training Center, Zichron Yaacov

Program of Studies:

Economic environment of energy companies within a developing economy. The development of energy economy around the world, with the example  of  the electricity market. Principles of economic strategy integration into energy companies. Business management at the company level. Structural changes at energy companies. Running structural reforms. Strategic stock management. Equipment and maintenance administration. The influence of reforms on human resources. Appreciation and control of organizational modifications.

Method:

Instruction may be performed in two methods:

  1. Given to a group of senior managers from various organizations, at the IEC College, Zichron Yaacov, Israel.
  2. Given to an organic group from one organization, to be held in the home country of the ordering company. In this case, instruction method and topics will be adjusted through an analysis of needs required by the organization.

The instruction method combines lectures given by leading experts in energy economy and economic strategy of energy corporations. The course includes assignments, case analysis, workshops, final project and advanced theoretic material for all topics. It also includes visits to energy installations in Israel.

Participants are requested to bring background information about their organizations, and to prepare a 30-minute presentation on their organization and their country's energy and economics. It is important to bring written documents, illustrative materials such as photos, slides, multi-media files and video recordings

Requirements for Admission:

The course is designated for senior managers at headquarters and line offices in energy and electricity corporations. Tuition to be paid by the participants. MASHAV will consider granting scholarships in special circumstances.

 

52. Electro-Optics Communication Technology-Vocational Training

Program of Studies:

The course will introduce to the participants a new methodology to qualify Electro-Optics technicians in the field of telecommunication.

  • Optilearn vision program and software.
  • Basic optical principles.
  • Theory of light: Electro-Optic basics
  • Lasers
  • Fundamentals of communication systems.
  • Optical fibers.
  • Professional visits.

Requirements for Admission:

The course is designed for decision-makers in the Ministries involved in vocational education (Education, Labor, Telecommunications) and senior training professionals in the Telecom Industry. Candidates must have relevant academic degree and solid background in training. The course will be conducted in English, Russian or Spanish (according to the participants).
