AGRICULTURE


Program of Studies:

The course program incloudes the following issues:
Milk production under environmental constraints. Feed material and feeding systems. High fertility breed selection. Herd management; biological, physiological and veterinarian problems of reproduction, breeding and artificial insemination technique. Milk products: processing and management.

Requirements for Admission:

The course is aimed at livestock experts, veterinarians, managers, researchers and other professional staff in the branch. The course participants must have academic higher education and at least five years of practical experience in the field.


Program of Studies:

The course program incloudes the following issues:
Broilers, layers, turkey raising and breeding. Housing and equipment for poultry farms. Nutrition and feeding efficiency. Veterinary services - poultry diseases: prevention and treatment. Slaughterhouse and processing plant. Economy of production, environmental aspects and marketing in the poultry industry.

Requirements for Admission:

The course is aimed at poultry specialists, veterinarians, poultry farm managers in governmental and private sector, researchers and other professional staff in the branch. The course participants must have academic higher education and at least five years of practical experience in the field.


Program of studies:

The course program includes the following issues:
Technological aspects of cultivating vegetables and fruit crops. Nurseries. Irrigation and fertigation. Integrated plant protection. Mechanization. Harvest, storing and marketing of fresh products.

Requirements for Admission:

The course is aimed at agronomists, managers, instructors and Scientific workers involved in horticulture cultivation and marketing. The course participants must have academic higher education and at least five years of practical experience in the field.


Program of Studies:

The course includes the following issues:
Irrigation of agricultural crops under ecological constraints. Planning of pressurized irrigation. Water rations for crops. Irrigation methods. Prevention of soil and water salinization. Control of soil humidity. National and regional water supply organization. Water users organization.

Requirements for Admission:

The course is aimed at hydraulic engineers, directors of farms and water organizations, researchers and experts in this field. The course participants must have academic higher education and at least five years of practical experience in the field.


Program of Studies:

The course includes the following issues:
Development of small and medium private farms and cooperatives. Planning new agricultural enterprises. Financial and economic aspects. Marketing of agricultural products. The use of a computerized business plan. Governmental and private supporting systmes in agricultural enterprises.

Requirements for Admission:

The course is aimed at economists, entrepreneurs, managers of private and collective farms, reserachers and experts in this field. The course participants must have academic higher education and at least five years of practical experience in the field.



ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT




Program of Studies:

The course includes the following issues:
The model of Israel local government. Promotion of employment and income generation by the local government. Support systems for small and medium enterprises. The role of the local government in community and social development. Managerial styles.

Requirements for Admission:

The workshop is designed for high rank professionals in the fields of local government: mayors, department or division directors and high rank personnel in municipal services.
